Army Boosts Combat Readiness with Graduation of Airborne, Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Specialists


The Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) in Jaji graduated students from several airborne training programmes, including Advanced Airborne, Basic Rigger, Basic Airborne, and Nigerian Defence Academy Cadets Airborne courses, after they successfully completed the required military parachute jumps to qualify as paratroopers. 


Speaking at the ceremony, Godwin Michael Mutkut urged the graduates to apply the skills acquired during training to strengthen operational effectiveness and support national security efforts.



He emphasized professionalism, discipline, courage, and continuous military education as essential qualities for addressing Nigeria’s security challenges. 


The Commandant of NASI, Frank Sunday Etim, highlighted the rigorous physical, technical, and psychological training the students underwent before earning their airborne wings.


He commended their discipline and resilience, stressing that airborne operations require precision and attention to detail. 


The commandant also graduated participants of the Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Driving and Maintenance Section Commanders Course 40, encouraging them to utilize their newly acquired combat driving and maintenance skills and share their knowledge within their units. 


The event featured combat graduation jumps, the decoration of qualified paratroopers with airborne wings, presentation of awards and souvenirs, and a group photograph, showcasing the Nigerian Army’s commitment to enhancing combat readiness and professional military excellence.
